About Michael Aram
Michael Aram is an American artist and designer known for nature-inspired, handcrafted metalware and decorative objects for the home. Trained as a painter and sculptor, he was captivated by India's living metalworking traditions on a visit in 1989 and established a design studio and workshop there that he still leads today. Working alongside skilled artisans, he shapes each piece largely by hand using time-honored techniques such as sand-casting and hand-forging, so no two are ever exactly alike. Drawing endlessly on the natural world, his collections bring a sculptural, artful sensibility to everyday living.
