Details
The Archivist Conifer Large Cylinder Matches ring a chunky tube with green conifer trees, each topped with a single red bauble — a design by Ariana Martin. Pop off the lid, pull out a match, strike: 80 of them, in a cylinder that makes rather more of an occasion of lighting a candle than a box would.
Archivist was founded in 1998 by William and Sarah, out of a shared passion for images and the art of typography. It is now one of the largest letterpress workshops in the UK. Ariana Martin is a pattern designer and printmaker based in South Yorkshire, whose work blends mid-century design with a fresh, modern sensibility.
