Questions
What's the difference between Classicolor and Jeweltone?
Classicolor bulbs are glass, opaque with a ceramic-style finish, in red, green, white, blue and orange, the look of 1950s painted bulbs. Jeweltone bulbs are Tru-Tone's Dura-Bulb: transparent, shatterproof polycarbonate in red, amber, green, blue and magenta, so the glowing filament shows through. Tru-Tone says they look nearly identical to glass.
Can they go outside?
Yes. The sets are rated for indoor and outdoor use, with sealed, corrosion-resistant bases. The Jeweltone Dura-Bulbs are weathertight, with color infused into UV-stabilized polycarbonate so it won't flake or scratch off. Colored glass bulbs, like Classicolor, can fade with long outdoor exposure.
How many sets can I connect?
The plugs stack end to end up to 360 watts in total, which is 24 of the 25-light sets (600 lights) on one run. Each set is fuse-protected and comes with two spare fuses.
Can I replace a bulb?
Yes. The bulbs screw into standard C7 (E12 candelabra) sockets, so a single bulb can be swapped out or moved to another spot on the string.
Do they get hot?
No. The LED filament stays cool to the touch and uses about 88% less energy than an incandescent C7, about 0.6 watts per bulb.
Are they dimmable?
Yes, with most standard or LED dimmers. A dimmer isn't included.
What if a bulb arrives broken?
Tru-Tone's 3-year guarantee covers bulbs that arrive broken, fail early, or show extreme fading or flaking.
