Free City at CHROME

The Large Sweatpant in Blue Milk, Eatgreen and Volcano, the Sweatpant in the straighter cut, the ARTISTSWANTED Supervintage long sleeve and the RTU 1999 tank, the Basicgoodness hoodie, the Lucky Rabbits sweatshirt and the Circa '99 Letsgo — sixteen styles in XS to L and Free City's own 1-2-3 sizing. Runs are small and colors are dyed in batches, so when a colorway sells through it's gone; the collection shows only what's in stock.

Free City is Nina Garduno's Los Angeles label, made in California since 2001, and the process is the point: fleece that's cut, sewn, then hand-dyed and printed in the studio, so the color sits in the fabric unevenly and the block-letter graphics wear in rather than off. The doves, the slogans and the mismatched drawcords are the signature. It's the most collected brand we carry — the Large Sweatpant is the piece people buy in every color.

Fit: oversized. The Large Sweatpant is wide through the leg with a long inseam meant to stack; most people take their usual size, or a size down for a closer fit. Tees and long sleeves are boxy and long. Wear with adidas Sambas or New Balance; see Aviator Nation and women's sweatshirts for the rest of the fleece wall.

Questions we get about Free City

What's the difference between the Large Sweatpant and the Sweatpant?

The Large is wider through the leg and hip with a longer inseam; the Sweatpant is the straighter original. Both have the same drawcord waist and back pocket.

Do Free City colors fade?

They're hand-dyed, so they soften with washing — that's the look. Wash cold, inside out, and hang dry.
