Coffee table books at CHROME

The Assouline Travel Series and Classics — Palm Beach, Aspen Style, Ibiza Bohemia, Tuscany Marvel, Lake Como, Marrakech, Kyoto — plus the fashion-house volumes (Chanel, Dior, Louis Vuitton by Virgil Abloh, Tiffany & Co.), the Rolex and Porsche books, Taschen's film and music archives, Phaidon's design books (Supreme, Defining Style), the Chanel Catwalk volume, Fornasetti, Frank Lloyd Wright and the Assouline Ultimate Collection (the Impossible Collection of Cars and Whisky, Riva Aquarama) for the serious shelf. Around 180 titles at a time, most between $45 and $150, with the Little Book of Chanel and Dior under $20 for stocking gifts.

A coffee table book is the gift that doesn't need a size: the Assouline Travel Series for someone who just came back from Ibiza or Palm Springs, a Rolex or Porsche book for the collector, a fashion house volume for the person who reads the runway. Stack two or three of the same spine height for a console; Assouline's hardcovers are sized to sit together. Graphic Image's leather-bound editions (Rolex, Porsche) sit well next to a decorative book set for styling.

The whole book room lives under Books, Games & Puzzles; Assouline has its own page, and gifts for the book worm adds readers, pens and mugs.

Questions we get about coffee table books

Are these new, sealed copies?

Yes. Every title is bought new from the publisher or its US distributor and ships in the publisher's wrap or slipcase.

Which Assouline series is which?

The Travel Series and Classics are the standard hardcovers (about 10 by 13 inches, cloth or silk cover). The Ultimate Collection are the oversized, hand-bound editions in a clamshell case — the $1,000-plus books. Both are listed here.
