I’ve always been crazy was released in 1978, at the end of Waylon's outlaw country phase and also at the end of his self proclaimed monstrous cocaine addiction. The album still has quite a bit of an outlaw tone with a number of hits and spent a year on the charts. The album features a red tinted black and white image of Waylon with his signature across the top. I used a few different techniques on the album. Waylon himself was stitched with multiple shades of, red, pink, tan, black and white in hand digitized wool thread. I then superimposed his logo across the black background and stitched it in black yarn. The step and repeat of the logo in yarn creates a visual interest in the stark background. His signature was stitched using red yarn for texture as well.
